where it remains a major crop today. As we ride out into the gently rolling hills of the countryside, we’ll view lush tropical plants,
such as cinnamon, vanilla, and fruit trees. Learn more about the art and history of the cultivation of spices and perhaps see whether you

After a pickup at your hotel, you'll start this memorable day with a good-half-an-hour boat trip to Prison Island,
also known as Changuu Island or Quarantine Island, located in the Zanzibar Archipelago. In 1893 the former British prime minister of Zanzibar
purchased the island and built a prison complex on it. But - it never served to its intended use! It was used as a quarantine station for
yellow fever cases. Today the building is a ruin, but it serves as a lovely guesthouse for tourists, where you'll be able to relax a bit
and enjoy magnificent views.
Round up this great day with some snorkeling around the coral reefs, admire colorful fish, many beautiful starfish, and picturesque seashells,
or simply relax on the white sandy beach.
You will have lunch on your own. You can take recommendation from your tour guide or explore on your own.
Upon your return admire the breathtaking view of Stone Town, one of the most charming and ancient towns in
East Africa, led by a local guide. As we wander the narrow streets of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, admire the fine buildings that
reflect the city's historic mix of African, Arab, Indian, and European cultures.
The cultural hub of Zanzibar Island, Stone Town appears to have been frozen in time two centuries ago, when Zanzibar was at its peak
as an Indian Ocean trading center. Along its warren of narrow streets, we'll view a blend of empires, from Persian and Portuguese to an
Omani sultanate and finally British rule—all with a hint of the native Swahili culture.
We'll also explore the very first Anglican cathedral in East Africa which houses the moving Slave Memorial; and the Old Arab fort.
Throughout our tour, we'll meet and mingle with some of the town’s lively characters—local musicians—who will perform for us and let us
try our hands at some traditional Zanzibari and Tanzanian instruments.
After some time we’ll depart around 4pm for an approximate 30-minute walk to the beach. Upon arrival, we'll embark on a sunset cruise
on a traditional dhow sailboat where you can relax with included drinks and snacks. During this 2-hour cruise, you’ll have the chance
to watch the various fishing boats as they’re leaving for the night and perhaps take in the sunset.
In the evening you can ask your tour guide about their favorite spots for a bowl of coconut bean soup, a signature Zanzibar dish or have a cocktail at the hotel bar as you take in the spirit of the city.

Throughout our activities today, we'll be in the company of our Tour Experienced Guide.
We will head to our lodge where by we will have a little rest and we will have our lunch.
After Lunch we'll walk about 10 minutes to the Dhow marina to discover Menai Bay by traditional Zanzibari motor boat.
Located off the southwestern coast of Zanzibar, Menai Bay is the island’s largest protected marine area and is home to extensive coral reefs,
mangrove forests, sea grasses, and tropical fish.
While discovering small islets such as Komunda and Miwi, we may even witness pods of dolphin swimming by. We’ll have the opportunity to
